HPLC-UV Tandem ESI-QTOF-MS
Analytical testing & contract research
Mission Hills, California

Every number this laboratory reports is produced on state of the art instrumentation, by methods it will hand a reviewer, and judged by rules it publishes. This page states them — the bench, the decision rules, and the practice around reference standards — because a method that can be checked is worth more than a mark that has to be trusted.

Instrument 01

HPLC-UV Tandem ESI-QTOF-MS

Liquid chromatography combined with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry provides high-resolution mass accuracy and detailed spectra — assuring the accuracy of our measurements and data, and confirming the identity and purity of your analytes.
Instrument 02

Fluorometer

Fluorometric measurement of LAL endotoxin assays lets us give you quantitative data, so you know exactly how much is present in your sample.
Instrument 03

ICP-MS

Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry is the gold standard for heavy-metal detection, capable of detecting down to parts per trillion. If metals are present in your samples, we will find them.

How a result is judged.

The number and the method
no pass–fail badge
no mark standing in for either

Purity is area-normalised. Identity is accurate mass against a reference standard. Quantity is recovered mass against the label claim. In every case the certificate carries the number and the method that produced it — this laboratory does not print a badge where a measurement should be.

No badge stands in for a number

Nothing on these pages is a certification mark, and no badge is asked to stand in for a number. The case for believing a result is the method that produced it — instrument, wavelength, reference standard, and error, printed on the certificate where they can be checked. A laboratory that publishes its decision rules can be argued with. That is the point.

Contract research.

Method development · validation
regulatory data packages
small molecule · protein · peptide

The same bench takes commissioned work. With more than 15 years of research experience, we are prepared to solve complex projects. We provide a personalized and transparent approach, keeping you updated every step of the way. We won't be satisfied until you are.

Method development & validation

Assay development, optimisation, and validation built specifically for your project — documented as it is built, so the method leaves here usable by someone who is not us.
Development · validation · troubleshooting

Small-molecule profiling

Molecular mass determination, structural elucidation and fragmentation analysis, purity and impurity profiling, and degradation studies on synthetic and natural compounds.
Accurate mass · MS/MS fragmentation · impurities

Protein & peptide profiling

Intact mass analysis, LC-MS/MS peptide mapping, identification of post-translational modifications, and sequence confirmation — the proteomics discipline behind the peptide bench.

Regulatory data packages

  • The method as written — instrument parameters, sample preparation, and the decision rule the result was judged by.
  • The validation record for that method, on the matrix it was validated for — not a general claim of soundness.
  • Traceability from injection to reported number, so a reviewer can reproduce the work rather than take the conclusion on faith.
  • Prepared to support your submission. What we hand over is the data package — the regulatory argument remains yours to make.

Reference standards

  • Identity is read against a reference standard, and the certificate names the standard it was read against.
  • Where no standard is on file, the certificate says so and states the basis of identification instead — it does not imply a comparison that did not happen.
  • For commissioned work, the method plan states which standard will be used and where it comes from — settled before the run, not after.
